Altitude: 1630 masl
Flavor: Lemongrass, orange peel, tropical fruits, funky
Franky is a young-generation coffee farmer in Huila, Colombia in the town of Acevedo. He is highly dedicated to producing high-quality coffees and he is also a trained barista. We met Franky on our trip to Colombia and wanted to support him by buying his coffees which we received for the first time in 2019.
This coffee lot is created with a delicate Gesha variety. Franky has developed his own fermentation processes at his farm El Encanto. It has gone through different stages of anaerobic fermentation, pulping, thermal shock, and at the final stage infusion of yeasts from tropical fruits.
The resulting cup is an intense celebration of tropical fruits, some funkiness - if you love a coffee that punches you a little at the first sip, this is yours. Makes a good cup of filter, adventurous ones will try this as an espresso as well.
